Shelters must be provided for them because they hate humidity! They feel comfortable on dry ground such as sand, straw, or wood shavings. Ventilation must be adequate, either static or dynamic. The shelter should have a thick and clean bedding to ensure the camelid’s comfort.
A ceiling height at least twice the height of the dromedary is recommended. There is no minimum regulatory floor area in France, only a recommendation by Dr. Faye of 15-20 m² per animal.

It is possible to separate individuals by status, meaning lactating and pregnant females are separated from the males, who themselves are separated from the young.
Enrichments can be provided in the enclosures. These are practices and devices implemented to improve welfare by stimulating natural behaviors and preventing boredom. Examples include branches suspended from the roof of the building, salt licks, sandy rolling areas, among others!
